A Sand County Almanac. It is an old book having been published first in 1949. However
it still sells 20,000 to 30,000 copies every year. I'm sure you must have it. It has wonderful,
almost poetic accounts, of what goes on in his dry county of Wisconsin each month.
He is basically a forester and scientist with a keen eye and very loving approach to all of
nature. The last section of the book dwells on the problems of preserving wild places.
